Deb - You're a Genius!!
Well - I did what I said I was gonna do and tried Jade with raw meat. I didn't hold out much hope as shes a fussy little moo and it took us ages to find something she'd consider eating!! Went to Pets at Home yesterday and got some of their chicken and liver mince (only 66p per pertion) on Deb's advice. Took it home and waited for it to defrost, made sure Jade was nice and hungry and I put down 1/2 the packet with some of her Arden Grange. First of all she had a sniff and looked at me as if to say 'I'm not eatin that crap!'. She lay down next to it for 5 minutes then jumped up and ate the whole bloody lot!!!! I nearly fell off my chair!!! She then sat for the next half an hour licking her lips!! Thanks for your advice Deb!! My OH has renamed you the 'dog oracle'!! xx :king:

Its brilliant when they try something new and like it!! Roxy has improved so much recently. My friends little girl tried to feed Roxy chips at the weekend before she would have gulped them down and any other junk on offer but her meals seem to be filling her up!! (Wish I could say the same for me!!)

When we got her she was used to eating burgers, chips, doner meat etc - everything thats bad for humans so god knows what it must've done to her!!! Took us ages to find a dog food that she didn't turn her nose up to, thats why I was so shocked that she ate the raw mince!!xx

Glad she likes it Claire. Over the weekend I finally manages to get Kane completely off commercial dog food. He's getting strictly all natural home prepared food now.

Well done Deb, how long did it take you from start to finish to change Kanes diet?

Good going with Kane! I'm so pleased she took to it so quickly!
Still giving her Arden Grange with it but plan to slowly introduce her to a raw meat diet gradually as I learn more about it. I'll get rid of her pot belly if its the last thing I do!! D'ya think raw meat would work on my belly??!! :lol!: Thanks again.xx

Beef is the Hardest for dogs to get to want to eat.
May I suggest taking the chicken grinding it up and cooking half of it and putting the raw mixed in once cold. Many times you can start to get the dog to eat meat cooked then move into raw slowly.
Once the dog gets use to eating raw you can get them to eat other meats and bone.

Hi Deb, mine get a small amount of a good quality dry mixed with raw meat, pureed raw veg, yoghurt, brown rice, supplements with kelp and flaxseed oil. They also get raw bones regularly.
