Moozak anyone?
just wondered if anyone uses an ipod, mp3, anything with headphones attached whilst they walk their dogs?
i tried once but felt uncomfortable doing so, just didn't like the restriction on my hearing. you know, what if i don't hear another dog approach us etc.
i was going to try it again though as i'm more in control of handling my girls on their walks and sometimes it can seem rather boring if out walking same route for a long time.

Re: Moozak anyone?
I never use one for the very same reasons you felt uncomfortable. I have to be aware all the time having already experienced, on more than 1 occasion, having Kane attacked by other dogs. With all the incidents you read about people being attacked by yobs to steal their dogs that too worrys me. My ears are always open and my eyes always scanning the horizon. I wish the popularity of the breed for the wrong reasons would diminish so we as owners don't have to feel so worried about everything.

I'm like that too Deb regarding someone attempting to steal them. Still haven't felt comfortable to try it & I think I'll just go with my gut instinct and leave it at home on doggie walks.

Re: Moozak anyone?
I try not to walk Jade on my own if I can help it. I get really nervous in case a dog approaches and she starts getting nasty. Shes fine left alone and can have a dog close to her without battering an eyelid but if they get too close she gets nasty and I wouldn't know what to do if a fight broke out - I think I'd freeze. I always wait for my OH to take her out. A poor stray doggy approached us at the park on Saturday but luckily I was able to distract him and he was more interested in getting fuss from me than Jade so Stu was able to get Jade to the car.
In answer to the question (I do tend to ramble on!) I dont use an ipod or anything but my OH doea when he goes for a run with Jade.x
What happened with Kane Deb - I bet it was really scary, poor little boy.xx

I wish my OH would take my two girls for a walk! He has done it in the past but they were young then.
He doesn't like lifting their poops so he hasn't taken them out for a walk in a LONG time.
Well I tried my IPOD the other week whilst walking them and all went well...I kept it at a sensible volume level, enough to hear the music but also to hear around me.
I get bored on our walks LOL so I need something to tide me over whilst my girls sniff EVERYTHING in sight and I ain't joking when I say everything LOL
So I'm going to give it another go just now as I head off on our afternoon walkies as Yazmin is groaning like she needs to go for number 2! LOL

I put me IPOD on today whilst walking the girls and the walk was way more enjoyable...
