Nice chat I had with an ex SBT owner...
Whilst I was walking my girls today a man stopped his car and approached me about my girls and we had a nice chat about the breed.
He said that he had seen me about loads of times walking my girls but never got a chance to stop and speak to me about them.
Now I was finding it a bit weird until he explained that he used to show sbts and had them for many years and he came across as genuine. He said that he doesn't have any sbts at present and he stopped showing because the type of sbts that were being showed/bred were not to his liking. He explained that he thought the sbt in the show ring now are too skinny and and too short legged.
So he was saying to me that he thought my girls were good looking bitches and had I ever thought about showing them and I explained that I'd thought about it but knew that I wouldn't have the confidence to do it. He says that Yazmin has a good ear setting and looks well.
He asked me if they were spayed and I told him that they weren't and he says please don't tell me that you are going to have them done and I said well yes I am planning on it.
He seemed to think it was a waste to spay them seeing as his thoughts were that they are such lovely bitches. I explained that I knew nothing about breeding and that I just don't have the time or experience to look after loads of little puppies properly.
We chatted about Angel's allergy and how it was affecting her ear and he gave me some good advice and I really enjoyed our chat. It seemed that he had a wealth of information that I could've listened to for ages given half the chance.
Well I found out that he knows the breeder who I got my two girls from and he said he would give her a slagging about letting the best from their litter go LOL
I really like chatting face to face with other sbt owners or those experienced in the breed and I do hope that I get to chat to him again.

Aww thats lovely - it makes a change when you bump into someone that loves the breed and knows a thing or 2!
I wouldn't have a clue about breeding either - I personally think theres too many staffies around in rescues already and although your girls are beautiful I wouldn't be breeding! It would be ace having some ickle puppies around though!xx

Just imagine...little tiny ickle puppies all of my own...yeah when I win the lottery & can keep them all LOL
Nah I'm defo getting both girls spayed Claire. I couldn't do the breeding thing & I really don't want to add to the problems that the breed and rescues are facing with too many of the poor wee pets.
When I win the lotto I will buy a massive plot of land and build a super duper warehouse type place with kennels inside, warm & cosy for the rescue staffies with a huge apartment for me on top :o) Then I wake up & have my cornflakes :o/ Darn :o)
It was nice chatting to the man though even if he did try & get me to breed from them LOL I forgot to add that he said a guy he knows was looking to mate his male staffie :o/

I'd love to open a rescue place if I had loadsa wonga!!!
I'd hire people to spend time with the dogs so each has at least a couple of hours one on one attention and weren't lonely!
I can just see you with Ceaser's walking stick, trekking through the mountains Tim!!!
