New member and advice needed!
Hey all! My names Ashley I have an 8month old puppy, in black with a white chest named "Marley",.....no he wasn't named after the dog from the film!
Loving it so far, was hard at first (obedience, toilet accidents etc) But he's brilliant now
He was attending regular training sessions however I made the mistake of not socialising him with other dogs from a young age so he was always naughty with other dogs and was always distracted in class, so he was no longer allowed in class...only one-on-ones.
The trainer did however mention about the protein he was having. The breeder I got him from said to feed him Bakers puppy, which is what she had the litter feeding on. We had him on that for a while then the trainer advised us to put him on Burns, which he has been on for a couple of months now. His general behaviour has greatly improved plus the tiolet side of things has also so we decided to keep him on it
Only recently though I can't decide to myself wether he is too skinny for his age? I'm really not sure, which is why I thought I'd finally join a forum.
I don't know how to fix a pic to this thread so you may just have to look at the avatar pic to see what you think but maybe I should take a bit of a better photo of him
He is on three feeds a day which I thought was correct to be on from the age of six months?
Hope my grammar and all that is ok, I used to me a member of a popular "Subaru Impreza Owners" forum, and generally everything you do or say was judged and was actually quite a pain in the end! (things like pics, topics, thread titles, saying lol or haha stuff like that!)
So anyway thats me! Looking forward to the forum and any advice greatly appreciated!
Ash

And some I have taken tonight:
And a pic from above his back, is he too skinny for his age or am I just worrying too much?

Re: New member and advice needed!
Hi and welcome. I wouldn't worry about your grammar on here. Everyone is really friendly and helpful and we don't care about things like that. I'm afraid I can't view your pics, only the avatar. Marley looks really cute. I personally wouldn't worry about his weight as he's only 8 months old and has got plenty of time to fill out and bulk up. There are lots of people on here with experience who'll be able to give you advice but as long as he's getting good quality food and plenty of exercise then I think he'll be fine.

Re: New member and advice needed!
he looks perfectly fine to me, nice to see a dog who isn't overweight, has a nice waistline.
he will bulk up a bit as he matures, but this will be his chest, head and muscles on his back legs.

Re: New member and advice needed!
Heyy
when i got hogan i was advised not to feed him on bakers or pedigree etc i was advised that because of the way staffs are with being so strong and having hind leg troubles later in life to feed him on brands such as james well beloved. I did try him on james well beloved for a few months however it didnt agree with his stomach and i am now feeding him on arden grange which is really good. Hes doing really well on it =] x
