Hello from Surrey
Hello, I think I've posted in the wrong area, sorry. Here's my dog Dudley. He's a great dog but we've had loads of problems and he's had 3 operations on his back legs. I have plenty of experience in these ops now. If anyone is unfortunate enough to go through the same thing with their dog I'd be happy to share the experience!

Re: Hello from Surrey
He's had both cruciate ligaments repaired. He damaged one and no sooner had we got through all the rehab when he ran off after a rabbit and came back with a limp. The second op wasn't totally successful so he had to have a third op. He's just got one more week on the lead and then hopefully the vet will give us the all clear. Its been hard work! I've only had him about 20months and he's been out of action about half of that.
I cant afford to do anymore with him so I'm really trying to work on his strength in his back legs to protect him as much as possible from further injury.

My bitch may need hers doing - at the monet I am giving her glucosamine and chorondrite to help with her leg until they operate. they won't operate on her till he ruptures.

Re: Hello from Surrey
Sorry to hear about poor Dudley's bad legs. I hope he'll soon be back to good health. My friend had the same problem with her staffie and she said the hardest thing is trying to stop her dog from wanting to run about when she has to rest especially if you have a high energy staffie. Fortunately my Lily is a couch potato but there must be nothing worse than watching your dog having to take it easy when all they want to do is get out and run around. Lets hope its the last of Dudleys problems.

Re: Hello from Surrey
thanks everyone. Yes, keeping Dudley quiet is virtually impossible! He had to have sedatives during his cage rest period. He's learnt various tricks while he's been recovering. I've also discovered the wonders of filled Kongs! Keep him busy for ages.
