Humping!!!

Is it normal for bitches to hump??!!

Jade will occassionally get a bit over excited when shes licking me and start moving her bum as if shes trying to hump me! She has never done it to anyone else.
I thought only dogs humped!!! Is my girl just a bit sexually frustrated??!! xx

Roxy will try to hump other dogs. I did read somewhere its to do with dominance, hopefully Deb or someone will be able to say more about it.

It is a sign of dominance, my Bullmastiff female used to do it to my male.

So its Jade expressing her dominance over me? Shes not really a dominant dog in other ways.xx

Yes it is her dominance over you. When she "humps your leg" she is saying she thinks you are lower than her in the natural pack order. Its wierd because your dog excessively licks you is a sign thet they respect your dominance and Roxy does a lot of this too.

Thanks for that Krissi. Jade is ALWAYS licking me!! She never licks Stu or tries to hump him and I'm the only one she'll listen to if shes being naughty so she knows I'm the gaffer!!
