Angel's new collar...
I'm trying to break the cycle Angel has of excessive licking to her paws and it was recommended that I use an elizabethan collar for around 48hrs to snap her out of it. Well... lol she's had it on since 9.30am with the exception of her walks and eating her meals and it seems to be working! She's had it off for the past hour now because she wanted to wrestle with Yazmin and she hasn't touched her paws . She wasn't impressed though when she had it on. Below are some pics when I put it on her this morning...
Ooh look at me Mummy, don't I look posh...
Okay, you can take it off now...
Hmmm...you're not going to take it off are you Mummy?
Shut up Yazmin...I can hear your sniggers...
Yazmin trying hard not to snigger & resisting temptation to pounce on Angel...

Aww poor Angel. But it's for the best. Shes so sweet looking though so it must be hard to resist taking it off of her with those sad eyes looking at you.

Re: Angel's new collar...
I can't look at her for laughing
When she looks at me her ears are floppy and she shows me the puppy dog eyes!!!
Well I wasn't sure if I should keep it on her overnight so I took if off before she was crated for bed... She started the dreaded slurping of her paws again I was ready for tearing my hair out.
They both sleep in their huge crate in our middle bedroom and we sleep in an attic bedroom which is just above them. I never close the bedroom door as I like to be able to hear them if they need me etc so all I could hear was the slurps!
I was scared to keep the collar on whilst she was in the cage in case she got stuck or into difficulty without me knowing so I just let her be.
Well tonight I'm going to sleep in the livingroomon the sofa and they can either sleep in their dog bed or their poofy which is also in the livingroom and I'll keep the collar on her. That way there's no chance of her getting caught on anything or into difficulty & there'll be no slurping!
Things you do for them

Bless her, but she does look funny! You gotta do what you gotta do. Hope it works and it breaks the habit.
Best of luck and here's hoping for a good night's sleep on the sofa!

Re: Angel's new collar...
When Jade hurt her foot she had to have one on for a few days and I found it hilarious - esp when she was trying to eat a treat off the floor and couldn't quite get to it cos of the collar!!! Needless to say this was our new game and kept me entertained for a good while! Yes I am a bad bad mommy!!!

I'm not really looking forward to the sofa sleeping lol but guess its what's best for her. But then again...if its a toss up between sofa sleeping or slurpy paws...sofa would win every time! lol
claire you are a norty mummy lol ...must try that one myself lol I'm kidding ... ...lol
I just read on another forum that a lady had to use one of these collars recently on her male sbt and he got stuck in the washing machine as the door was open
