Just to let you know we had a great time in the New Forest. Lily got on really well with Scooby (my friend's jack russell). They played together nicely and Lily only got angry with him when he tried to come in our tent and when he come over to her while she was about to have her food! She was a bit unsettled the first night in the tent but once she got used to the horses coming over and various other noises in the night it was no problem. Tried to get her to swim in the nearby stream but she was having none of it. When she realised she was out of her depth she couldn't get out of there quick enough - what a baby! I would definitely go camping with her again - not sure about my son though - typical teenager did nothing but moan! lol Will hopefully post some pics soon.

Sounds like a great time was had by all - except your son - LOL!
I might consider going camping next year - its sooo much cheaper than a caravan or cottage - its just the thought of creepy crawlies that puts me off!!
Looking forward to seeing piccies!xx

Creepy crawlies Claire? You have no creepy crawlies in the UK. I love camping but haven't managed to go since living here, used to mountains and bears, etc. We always take our dogs but never the teens. I took all my kids since they were babies but as soon as they are teens their sense of what is fun changes. Teen girls are the worst having to live without all the modern conveniences to beautify themselves and are only truly happy if they can hook up with another of the teenage species or two...preferrably of the opposite sex. Glad you and Lily had a great time though Karen.
