What do you feed your dogs?
Just thought it would be interesting to see what everybody feeds their dogs - Jade has Arden Grange mixed with either oily fish or pate and is doing really well on it.
Took us ages to find something that she liked - fussy mare!! xx :D

Re: What do you feed your dogs?
My Bullmastiff is on an all raw natural diet, but my Staffie is on Wagg, not very good quality but it's working for us. She was very fussy when we first got her and wouldn't eat a lot of foods, we tried her with Wagg and she ate it so we stuck with it and she's doing ok.
I'm planning to switch Beau to raw when we return from our holiday later in the year.

Roxy has Nutro Choice and Raw Vegetables. She was on James Wellbeloved but I found out they tested on animals so have swapped!

Re: What do you feed your dogs?
I use a mixture of commercial dry, raw meat, peas, brown rice & yoghurt. I used to use JWB as the dry but switched to Burns because it's organic and I feed less of it as well as I have found the added bonus of less wind. I have slowly beem adding the other ingredients and decreasing the dry. I also add flaxseed oil and a good quality vitamin/mineral supplement with kelp in it. Kane also gets raw bones.

Re: What do you feed your dogs?
Is Flaxseed for his coat? I keep meaning to get some, where do you get it from?
Guest- Guest
Re: What do you feed your dogs?
Yes flaxseed for his skin and coat. Was giving it to him from the start but recently I bought a book on holistic care for the dog and it says that it is more easily used by their body and much better for them than fish oils. I just buy the capsules from Holland & Barratts when they go on sale for £5 a bottle. He doesn't chew anything anyway so I just chuck the whole capsule into his food and he hoovers it up with the rest.

Re: What do you feed your dogs?
He gets 1 capsule a day in his breaky and gets the supplements in both meals of the day. The book I mentioned has it in is called "Holistic Guide for a healthy dog" is only £4.50 on Amazon and covers all kinds of behavioural issues that stem from poor diet including shyness and aggression. Will have to give that a try tomorrow. How often do you give it to him?

Re: What do you feed your dogs?
Bonnie and Max tried everything we could get our hands on, they settled on coles brand dog food (they won't eat anything else and are too stubborn and would rather go without), they eat goodoes dry food, bones and bonnie also likes pumpkin when im cooking. Almost forgot Bonnie loves pigs ears!!! and they have these raw hide bits which help keep their teeth in good shape.

Re: What do you feed your dogs?
Milo is really fussy. He's been brought up on prize choice mince, (cooked), and has science plan supplement with it. He seems to be fine on this, but hey, i'm still learning all the time!

Re: What do you feed your dogs?
I've always thought about trying BARF but never got round to it, i'm scared incase it doesny agree with Tess and she ends up with the runs
Re: What do you feed your dogs?
A change of any diet can cause the runs but it usually settles down after a couple of days.
Re: What do you feed your dogs?
I can never decide which diet to go by, so i do a mixture of raw, complete and cooked, i give them something different everyday, i stick to iams complete as i feel it does my lot well,

We feed Kenzo with NP - Norwegian Polar
This contains different types of meat. And it`s cocked. You can store it in the freezer and then you can take some up in the freedge and keep it there for about 4 days :)
Its easy to prepare and it does not smell bad.
The dog gets soft fur, and shiny, his breath dosent smell, but the important thing here; He loves it :))
On top of that he`ll get eggs, yammi..hehe

Re: What do you feed your dogs?
I feed Dudley tripe, heart, liver, kidneys and pilchards. He eats raw and cooked vegetables (carrots, potatoes and broccoli storks mostly) and fruit. Eggs - raw and cooked, oats, pasta, porridge (made with water). He eats anything and everything and never has an upset stomach! He also has fish oil and a joint supplement and raw bones from the butcher.
When I first got him I tried him on 4 different dried foods including the organic versions and he farted so badly I HAD to change things. He was a fire hazard!
