Southampton/Hampshire Staffie owners!

hello
i am a journalism student at southampton Solent University and am writing an article for my university newspaper about staffies and how they are (mis)represented in the media.
i am interested to talk to / hear from staffie-owners who live in hampshire, particularly in southampton to hear your views about how staffies are represented in the media, your experiences as a staffie owner and your feelings on banning dog breeds.

i personaly love staffies and want to stand up for them as a breed so if you want to help me do this, please answer my questions below and email your answers to: scruffy_dog74@yahoo.co.uk

it's just a few questions. it won't take long! and will really help me.

(1) Have you encountered negative attitudes or prejudice towards your Staffie because of its breed?

(2) Do you think Staffies are generally more aggressive than other dog breeds?

(3) Do you know many other Staffies other than your own?

(4) Why do you think Staffies have a bad reputation?

(5) If a dog is aggressive do you think it is:
(a) due to it having a bad owner or having had bad experiences
(b) due to aggressive behaviour being in the nature of the dog’s breed
(c) due to aggressive behaviour being in the nature of all dog breeds
(d) Something else? (please give details)

(6) Do you think bringing back dog licences would be a good idea and why / why not?

(7) From your own experience, how would you sum up the Staffordshire Bull Terrier breed and its personality?

if its for a written article could you not use emails from anywhere in the country? it would give you a wider cross section to exmine and probably loads more information, good luck!
