how much does your staff weigh
Maddie weighs just over 15kg she a heathly staff but the person who i had her off said she fat! I don't feel she is but he said when i had her you could see her ribs which i think shows i fed her and look after her. You should not be able to see a staffs ribs. What do you think? To be honest it really annoyed me but i just bit my lip and walked away.

Re: how much does your staff weigh
I seem to remember reading somewhere that you should be able to feel a dog's ribs, but not see them if the dog is a healthy weight?

Re: how much does your staff weigh
in staffy's the last 2 ribs should be visible but not protruding, you should also be able to feel the rest of the ribs clearly but not see them. a staffy silouhette when looking over them should be a broad head, broad shoulders, taiper in at the waist and then muscular hind quarters. every dog is different weight wise depending on height muscle mass etc. my staff is approx 20 kg but is not overweight, he is very big for a staffy, he is muscular and quite tall. for a little bit when we first got our rottie pup we had over fed rocco a little and he was a bit overweight however we didn't notice, it was a friend that pointed this out, we reduced his feed a little and this has brought his weight down to normal. sometimes you need a fresh pair of eyes to point out differences that you won't see as you see them every day. tust your own instincts as you will know if your dog is to skinny or poorly.

Re: how much does your staff weigh
The last time we took Jadey to the vets she told us she was overweight at 22kg so we put her on a diet and increased her excercise. Haven't had her weighed for a while but shes definatley trimmer and has loads more energy. Still a little bit to go but shes working on it!!xx

Maddie was defo too skinny when we had her you could see all the ribs. My brother said she not fat so that made me feel better cuz i was worried. She hasn't been walking too much lately because i've hurt my back but she has stopped eating her morning meal so it has balanced out :D

Re: how much does your staff weigh
I think its your own preference
some people like there dogs lean and some like them with more covering, dogs are different height so weight should be different to
if you feel she is not over weight then dont worry but if you are still concerned take her to the vets and get her weighed :D

Just weighed Milo now after a right kerfuffle, 17.6kg. No fat on him other than a bit of puppy fat left around his neck and shoulders.

Re: how much does your staff weigh
Weighed Kane yesterday when he was at the vets and he just tipped over 19 kg which I feel is fine for a 16" dog. Although he thinks he should be getting more, more, more food.
